District 9

A film like District 9 is a science fiction film that comes along once every few decades. It is a great film with visual effects like I've never seen. District 9 is a movie about aliens who live(a.k.a. imprisoned) in Johannesburg, South Africa in a caged area called District 9. The movie introduces Wikus van de Merwe(Copley) as a MNU worker who goes to post eviction notices on the aliens doors telling them that they are going to be moved to District 10. He finds a tube with alien liquid and he accidentally sprays it in his face. At this point, all h**l breaks out and he starts to become an alien. He befriends another alien named Christopher Johnson who tries to help him return to normal. While the very beginning of this movie takes a while to become the exciting action film it is, I was never bored at all during this and I think science fiction and alien fans are going to love this. It was a great movie with great special effects, great actors, and great dialogue. And not only that, Neill Blomkamp, the director, was amazing being that this is his first feature film. I hope to see more from him in the future.
