Picture
The Dawn Treader, if you are curious, refers to the ship that the film basically takes place on. It is where Lucy (Georgie Henley), Edmund (Skandar Keynes), and their cousin Eustace (Will Poulter) are swept onto when a painting of an ocean with the ship comes to life. The film follows their journey to find the seven Lords of Narnia who have been banished in various places around the world. Aboard the ship is King Caspian (Ben Barnes) who started the journey to find the lords. As the film progresses, the group must find the lords before it is too late while trying to fight off dragons, sea serpants, and much more.

Let me start off by saying that C.S. Lewis has created a masterpiece of literature in his Narnia series. A series that was bound to be made into a film. The film, The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, was the first of Disney's adaptions of the classic books. The film was very well done with great special effects and relatively unknown actors who were perfect for their roles. The second film in this series, Prince Caspian, brought back the Pevensie children to Narnia when the Telmarines were taking over. This film was basically the same film with a different plot but still good. This film brings back the brilliant special effects used in the other films with spectacular creatures and breathtaking places.

It's not that I don't like these movies becuase I do enjoy them. These films, though, are almost too alike. They obviously don't have the same plot but it is the same adventure/epic where the children get taken to Narnia and go on some adventure. The films themselves are good but this film was not something I haven't seen before. I also think that these films are trying to hard to be like the Lord of the Rings franchise by being these big epic movies but they just aren't. These films are not bad in any way but are just dull if you have seen the others. All in all, it is a fun film that kids will like and you could go see and have a fun time with. If you have seen the others, I would suggest renting it.
